Course Description:
Self-esteem and be You course is about loving ourselves. Your perception of oneself as a whole, including your feelings about your strengths and weaknesses, is called self-esteem. You feel good about yourself and believe you are worthy of other people’s respect when you have a healthy sense of self-worth. Low self-regard causes you to place little significance on your ideas and opinions. Self-regard is the belief in one’s own skills or values. This includes one’s self-perceptions as well as emotional states, including joy, anguish, pride, and shame. Being able to anticipate specific outcomes, such as academic success, happiness, marital and romantic satisfaction, and criminal conduct, makes self-esteem a desirable psychological concept. Self-esteem can be applied broadly or to a certain quality. Psychologists typically view self-esteem as a permanent personality attribute, while there are also typical, short-term changes. Self-worth and self-regard are synonyms or almost synonyms of each other. The opinion or judgment that we hold about ourselves is our self-confidence. self-regard can influence life in myriad ways, from academic and professional success to relationships and mental health. To become successful in life, we must have confidence in our capabilities. Once we believe in ourselves, nobody can beat us. This course will give an overall idea about self-esteem. Hopefully, after completing this course, we will try to adopt the qualities of high Self-esteem.

Some of us may have had similar unhappy moments – at home, at school, among peers and family. We believed the lie that we are not good enough. Some of us may have the best of beginnings, but a failure or a series of failures may have corroded our self-esteem. Still, some of us may have everything going in favor of us, but our constant negative self-talk could be harming.
Whatever be the reason, there is a possibility of repairing your spirit and nurturing your lost self-esteem. Here are some tips to boost your low self esteem:
1. Put a stop to victimhood
The more you think that you’ve been a victim of unfavorable circumstances and people, the weaker you feel. It is time to stop being the victim. See your past as a dream and look forward to the future with the roar of a lion!
. Remove the baggage
The times you were bullied, the times you felt put down, and the instances of failure lend a damaging emotional baggage. Emotions attached to every distasteful memory damage the foundation of one’s self-esteem. Dropping them becomes essential for nurturing self-confidence. But, how do you drop emotions that have ransacked your mind for so long? Through meditation!
Meditation to boost self-esteem is a reality. The process not only clears your mind of distressing emotions but it also makes you comfortable with your self. When you are comfortable with your self, your self-confidence gets a tremendous boost.
3. Curtail the negative self-talk
Sometimes it is our minds pulling us down with constant doubts and other negative self-talk. Instead of grumbling on your shortcomings, resolve to address them. Instead of indulging in any negative inner dialogue, observe them till they dissolve into oblivion.
4. Compete with yourself
Competing with others sets off unrealistic expectations of ourselves – a tendency which produces a spiral of self-damaging thoughts. It is a tendency which neither makes us productive nor happy.
However, if you compete with yourself, you’re not only more productive but can build a stronger self-esteem. So, strive to be better than the previous day and previous year rather than the fellow sitting next to you!

How you feel about yourself — your self-worth or your pride in yourself — is called self-esteem. It may be a blow to your self-esteem, for example, to find out you didn’t get chosen for the scholarship you applied for.
Self-esteem is how we value and perceive ourselves. It’s based on our opinions and beliefs about ourselves, which can feel difficult to change. We might also think of this as self-confidence.
Your self-esteem can affect whether you:
Like and value yourself as a person
Can make decisions and assert yourself
Recognise your strengths
Feel able to try new or difficult things
Show kindness towards yourself
Move past mistakes without blaming yourself unfairly
Take the time you need for yourself
Believe you matter and are good enough
Believe you deserve happiness

Dear Ma’am
Thank you so much
By doing this course I have learned and understood a lot about self-esteem .
Self-esteem is self-assessment. This is a combination of our position in society, our abilities, our self-confidence, and our good evaluation of ourselves. Individuals with high self-esteem will be physically and mentally strong. Instead of comparing themselves to others, they will compare their own performance.
